Sweater Weather at Maison Lavande – The Perfect Sweater for Any Season

You guys hear me say this all the time, ‘I’m a summer baby!’ I live for sunshine, warm weather, and an ocean breeze. But I also love the fall season. Fall has so much going for it, the smell in the air, the changing of the leaves, cozying up by the fire with apple cider (or hot chocolate), and best of all… it’s sweater weather! Although I have to say that I think sweaters are perfect for any season, am I the only one that thinks this?

Since I’m notorious for always being cold I seem to shop sweaters year round. No matter where I’m traveling you can be sure there is always at least 1 sweater that travels with me.

Lately, one of my favorite sweaters has been my Banana Republic Plush Wool Blend Duster Cardigan. It’s so comfy!!! Seriously, I’ve been wearing this sweater since July and loving it. It has traveled with me to multiple destinations.

My favorite way to wear it, paired with your favorite leggings and cool sneakers, it’s ultimate airplane attire. And when I have a workday at home, this is always my sweater of choice. In fact, I’m wearing it right now!

It’s become my biggest defense against air conditioning. And if I’m being really honest with you, this sweater hasn’t even been hung up in my closet since I got it. If it isn’t on my body, it’s at my desk waiting for me to settle into my workday.

I’ve always been the kind of person who avoids wool at all costs, I have very dry skin so wool has always been one of those really irritating fabrics to me. But this duster has completely changed my thinking. I’m not sure if it’s the blend of wool/mohair but it isn’t itchy at all, it’s the exact opposite!

A couple of weeks ago I went to Maison Lavendre, a beautiful Lavender field about 40 mins outside of Montreal. The A/C in the car was killer so you can guess which sweater kept me cozy, even though it was 30℃ outside.

It was the second time I had been there, and each time I get lost in the beauty of it all. The first time I heard about it I remember being shocked. Could there really be a lavender field just outside of the city that I didn’t know existed? The answer one big HELL YES!!

Picture the lavender fields in Provence, France. You know the ones you’ve seen all over your Instagram. Now take your expectations down a few notches. Why? Nothing against Maison Lavendre, it’s still one of my favorite places back home to shoot. And if you can’t be in France, Quebec is probably the closest thing! But in France, the fields are actually lavender farms just off the side of the road which go on for acres! Definitely, an insta-worthy moment if you’re there between June-August when they are in bloom.
